Dad Hats, from Nashville, come in with an emo anthem featuring a guitar riff that pulls you in, guitar stabs that bring up the energy, and punchy pop-punk drums drums. Their latest song “hope ur down” is made for emo kids like us. The lyrics tackle self doubt, not feeling good enough, and not being able to change who you are, all while hoping the love interest sticks around and loves him anyway. The melodies are super catchy and call the listener to sing along. “I hope you’re down, I cannot change.” There is also an incredible gang vocal section to get all your angst out. Dad Hats will release their third full length album, “wash. rinse. repeat.”, in late October, so enjoy the music video for “hope ur down” now and get ready for the album to drop!
