Put on your dancing shoes and your witchiest vibes, because Minneapolis based filmmaker David Anderson has just released a music video for the remix of “The Witches Made Me Do It” by Ryan Cassata (ft. LeonRose). The remix takes the song from a classic rock feel to an electronic one, so you can finally dance to your favorite spooky season anthem. The video is mostly black and white and drips with eerie vibes, but pops of color burst through, including the trans flag proudly displayed on a character’s punk battle vest. It also celebrates the beauty of Minneapolis and the LGBTQ community, because even the haunted stuff deserves some pride.
Anderson is also the director of the short horror film “Peter,” starring Ryan Cassata and Aaron Joshua Perra, which currently screens at film festivals across the country, including the LA Punk Film Festival and the San Francisco Transgender Festival. In the film, an intoxicated trans man named Peter gets followed by a mysterious man late at night, which leads him to fear that he will become the victim of a hate crime. Like the music video, “Peter” is filmed in Minneapolis, so Anderson clearly knows how to make the city look gorgeous and terrifying at the same time. Here is more info about Peter:
