NYC artist Deer park has announced his third album Matinee, alongside the release of lead single “Feathers” which is out now.
A deceptively sanguine track that radiates in soft focus, “Feathers” features a sing-song melody with vocals from past collaborators Ivy Knight and Valeria Litvakov that retains the malaise and discontent that permeates much of Deer park’s music.
Arriving as his sophomore full-length project, Matinee unveils a complete look at the ephemeral world of Deer park, which sonically unfurls from textural guitar into electronic experimentation. It’s a curious underworld of both emotion and restraint that navigates the passing of time and the fragments that possess us with a sense of dreamy unease,
“Feathers” follows recently released standalone singles with NINA (of Bar Italia) and Berlin artist Valeria Litvakov.
