Rapidly rising London four-piece Alphabet have released their new single, “Into The Blur.” Self-produced and mixed by guitarist Tom Sullivan and engineered by Sean Woodlock at Hackney Road Studios, the release follows an active summer festival run and their recent acclaimed single, “Sense.”
Leaning into dynamic early-2000s indie and hazy shoegaze aesthetics, “Into The Blur” pairs reverb-soaked rhythmic guitars with alternating vocal trade-offs. The track reinforces the group’s hands-on DIY approach, featuring artwork designed by vocalist and bassist Lena Pishofer.
Reflecting on the nostalgic and personal themes behind the track, Pishofer shared:
Into The Blur is a memory of a period in my early 20s – a time when I was pretty unhappy, but also felt very creatively alive. It’s about getting older and realising you’ll never feel quite the same way again. I don’t necessarily want to go back to how it was, but I miss the freedom and not really knowing where life was going. It’s about wanting to be there just once more.
Alphabet will celebrate the release with upcoming live dates across the UK, including a headline single launch show at London’s Old Blue Last.
