Marking her first solo single in five years UK dark-pop songstress Chaela returns with her track, Stay Too Long.
Chaela is a UK singer-songwriter with a gift for creating bold and unapologetic songwriting while mixing it with a dark electronic edge. Citing the likes of Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa as some of her most notable influences, Chaela brings an appealing mixture of electro-pop, dance and dark pop to the table, resulting in a sound that is both memorable and appealing.
Additionally, it’s safe to say that Chaela has developed plenty of experience up to this point, having been featured on BBC Introducing several times for her previous releases and performed at London events such as Live Ones and Dope Sessions, further evidencing that she’s a well-rounded performer through and through.
Arriving on her 30th birthday and marking her return as a solo artist after five years, Chaela is releasing her brand-new single, Stay Too Long. The track features her already familiar honest lyricism, telling the story of entertaining someone for far too long despite being repeatedly disappointed by that person and having her trust completely broken.
And while on paper this premise tells a bittersweet story, the production goes beyond that by mixing angelic backing vocals with electronic arrangements and an irresistible beat to lose yourself in its immersive, intricate patterns, resulting in a dark-pop anthem that definitely hits hard as well as mesmerizes.
Stay Too Long is a high-caliber masterclass in electronic music, infectious, assertive, and packed with attitude!
With such a high-quality bopper, Chaela has made it clear that she’s back in full force, ready to continue her story while proving why she’s a force to be reckoned with in the UK’s independent music scene.
